Starter King was born from two problems we faced as a family-owned, local business in Northeast Ohio. The first was that our premium, high-quality food-grade wax paper was not recyclable, and the second was that existing products in the fire starting world smelled, didn't light quickly, and left an oily residue…

Now let me share a recent exciting journey that felt like a real-life "Shark Tank" experience.
In June, we took Starter King to the Lowe's “Into The Blue” product pitch event. Among 270 products, Starter King was one of the top 8, earning a Platinum award. It was a surreal experience where we had the chance to pitch our product to some of the biggest decision-makers at Lowe's.
The result? Starter King will be available in all 1,730 Lowe's stores in 2024! And why not? With premium low oil content wax that's resistant to water and burns extremely hot, Starter King turns what used to be considered waste into something highly desired.
